1 Introduction.

Kencoder is a graphical interface for mp3 encoders. It support for the moment the  8hz-mp3 freeware encoder and the l3c shareware encoder.
 

1.1 Features.

Kencoder allows you to encod multiple files without writing a lots of command in a terminal. By the way, it allows you to select files using the Drag&Drop feature of KFM.
 

2 Installation.

2.1 How to obtain Kencoder.

Kencoder est is available in the KDE ftp site at ftp.kde.org and, in my web site at http://www.burotec.fr/lcommero/home.htm .

2.2 Requirements.

You need the Qt and KDE libraries to make Kencoder work.
Kencoder doesn't nedd to be launch with Kde, it can be launch any other Window Mangers.
All what you need are th Qt and Kde libraries. Kencoder should also compiles in any Unix compliant system.
 

2.3 Compilation and installation.

In order to  compile Kencoder, just follow these steps :

./configure

make

make install

3 Using Kencoder.

3.1 Selecting files to encod.

You can select files to encod :

 When you've finished to choose the Input an Output files, you can push the Encode button.
You'll be warned when the Encoding is done.
